I’ve tried.  Really, I have.  My one-page synopsis is a yawn-fest, and every attempt at structuring an exciting query letter ends mid-sentence about 200 words in.  I need a break. A real break.

But, me being me, my idea of a break is exchanging writing for reading.

I’ve found Query Shark – a great resource if you’re trying to figure out what separates the good query letter from the bad and downright ugly.

Don’t worry – it’s not all work and no play – there’s a “What Not to Wear” marathon on today.  I’m thinking about nominating myself.  I’m going to need something other than yoga clothing to wear to my book signings.  The going is a little tough, but this optimist is just beginning the journey.  It’s a pretty steep learning curve but I’ll get there in the end.
